As a Computer Science student, I am always looking for new and exciting places where I can find employment. The last two years I have been in search of a great job on the East Coast. My immediate focus has been in New York click for more City. The opportunities available to me there are endless. However, I have also found a number of Computer Science jobs in nearby Philadelphia and in Maryland as well. The decision to work remotely is a great decision for me and I would encourage my fellow Computer Science students to consider doing the same.
In New York City there are many jobs including web programming, accounting and finance, customer service and marketing. If you are an ace at web programming, you can get a job as a search engine optimizer or content manager for a popular company. These positions pay a lot of money and are fun. I recently had a wonderful experience working for a content manager who actually came out and hired me as an intern while she was in California. She treated me with so much respect that I never forgot that day.
An excellent option for someone with my computer science background is an intern. These opportunities usually pay very well and also give you the chance to network. After having my first experience as an intern, I went on to have three more internships. Then I started working for Microsoft while earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Now, I am working as a software engineer for one of the most prestigious companies in the world.
If you are interested in working in a summer internship program, in New York or any other city, look into computer science fairs. They are an exceptional way to learn the computer language and to experience the workforce in a professional environment. Typically, you will be competing with other students for a limited amount of space, but it will still be time to put your computer skills to use. If you get selected for a job in a company, your salary will definitely increase.
A great place to work while in college is a programming boot camp. You will work one on one with some of the best programmers in the industry. Your job will be to do basic programming work, but you will also be able to go through extensive sessions of hacking. This experience will put you in the mindset of a full time computer programmer. It will also give you insight into what is new in the market today.
The next thing on my list of computer science student jobs near me is an office job. I live in a small town in North Carolina, so finding office jobs shouldn’t be too difficult. Look into companies in the local area, especially if they are seasonal in nature. These companies should be hiring immediately when there are openings.
Lastly, I have a side business that I run from home. It is a service for people who need assistance with their computers. The fee for this service is low, and it is a very beneficial service for people who constantly find themselves lost in the midst of their work. If you have ever had to call a repairman ten times in a day to solve a problem, then I know how frustrating that can be. Well, I can fix it! Plus, my service does not require a lot of knowledge, so anyone can do it.
Now that I have those three things, I have plenty of computer science student jobs near me to choose from! All of them require a decent amount of skill, and most of them pay quite well. So I won’t have any problems finding something.
